Job Purpose
The creation, implementation and documentation of electronics
hardware systems for Lucy Automation.
Key Accountabilities:
1) To develop electronics
hardware for our range of Remote Terminal Units and other Lucy
Automationproducts.
2) Systems testing of Automation
products.
3) Product Documentation
4) Manufacturing
documentation
5) Department Documentation
6) Design Reviews
Dimensions:
The job is based in Banbury and may
require overseas visits for installation, commissioning and
trainingas required for the implementation of Automation
systems.
Secondary Activities / Tasks
1) To undertake any other duties and
responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and
/or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the
Automation Department.
2) To undertake business travel abroad or within the UK as and
when required.Experience Knowledge & Skills
Experience and Skills
Essential
1) Experience of a general
electronics design environment in which processor controlled
devices have been developed
2) Experience in a range of
technologies including digital analogue and power electronics
3) Experienced in writing design documents and test
procedures
4) Design and build of hardware electronic systems including
packaging
5) Familiarity with CAD packages for schematic capture and PCB
artwork design
6) Environmental testing and EMC
7) The ability to work with software
engineers to design and debug systems
8) Thorough knowledge of MS Office
applications, including Access, Word and Excel
9) Soldering including SMT
Desirable
1) Proteus CAD software
2) Experience of communications protocols such as DNP3,
IEC60870-5-
101/104, TCP/IP,MODBUS
3) Knowledge of MV distribution systems and switchgear
4) Knowledge of Project management
tools
5) Giving Technical Training
6) Embedded Software
Qualifications
Essential
A degree in a relevant subject (Electronics/Science/Engineering
or equivalent)
