Programme Manager

Job Purpose
To coordinate all projects within the Projects department and
liaise with individual project managers to ensure timescales and
budgets are met. This will cover the running of several long
term projects in the field to ensure financial goals and timescales
are met.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Apply the Lucy Project Management processes to all
projects and ensure that all projects are delivered with a
consistent approach and to the right quality.Ensure all project
deliverables are clearly defined and achievable.
2. Ensure all projects are properly planned, costed, implemented
and executed on time and on budget.
3. Development of a departmental project plan to coordinate and
maximise resources.
4. Manage the Project team in Thame and the Project Managers
overseas.
5. Manage the input from the Automation team in Banbury.
6. Liaise with internal Lucy stakeholders i.e Sales, Shipping,
Purchasing, Finance and Production to ensure a coordinated approach
to projects.
7. Support sales teams to tender new projects.
Dimensions:
The role will be based at Lucy Thame in the UK; visits to Lucy
Banbury; Lucy Oxford and overseas travel may also be required.
Secondary Activities / Tasks

To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required /
instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency,
quality and service provided by the Project Department.
Experience Knowledge & Skills
Essential:
- Experience of formal project/programme management
systems, e.g. Prince2 or similar
- Experience of project management of complex engineering
projects involving multiple suppliers and sub contractors
- Understanding of basic revenue models, P/L, and
cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly
- Excellent Team management skills
- Experience of tendering and contract management processes i.e.
NEC/Fidic/Model Forms of contract.
- Understanding of construction/engineering Health &
Safety.
- Sound commercial awareness. Able to identify potential sales
opportunities.
- Excellent communicator able to operate at board level.
Desirable:
- Experience of engineering design management and the design
process.
- Experience of HV design and/or installation.
- Experience of developing fully detailed cost plans for
engineering/construction projects.
- Experience of diverse stakeholder management.
- Experience of managing geographically spread teams ideally
knowledge of Africa.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in H&S management
- Qualifications in Project or Programme Management.
Skills
Essential:
- Experience of setting up and managing multiple projects in a
structured environment.
Desirable:
- Experience of electrical supply projects
Relevant Professional Membership
Essential
- Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (or
similar professional body)
- Chartered Engineering Status
Desirable
- Member of the Association of Project Management
Person Specification / Competencies
- Must be a clear and organised thinker with ability to make the
right decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communications skills and able to develop strong
relationships with colleagues and clients.
